Finding a re-creation for everything!

Antique Clock Planter
Repurposed, ready for planting, hanging antique clock.
I could not repair the internal workings, no clock-maker knowledge(just looked at it) so I did the best thing. Poly'd, so one could plant directly into top section.

Coffee tables and pine lath, so rich.

The top piece was built using architectural elements and pine wood  lath. Bottom table is an iron base with a grape vine motif also using the pine wood lath. I enjoy the beautiful qualities of pine and is my choice of woods to design with.

Hug a tree today!

100 Year Old Wood!

Beautifully weathered pine wood table using barn wood paneling from a farm in WI and a classic drop leaf table base. Rich and warm tones!

Old bottle + lamp parts = terrarium!

Using vintage lamp parts and  a baseless (cut the bottom off) glass bottle made for a unique terrarium or keepsake display piece. Unfortunately a candle will extinguish itself but a small plant won't. Less oxygyn?

Frankentable!

I created this table using a collection of "left for dead" table parts (i.e. crippled leg, peeling veneer, dry rot, etc.) bringing new life to what could have ended up in a burn pile. Lilac blue paint covered some funky stains and also creates a nice compliment to the existing paint and natural wood, beneath.

A single drawer lives on.

I just completed the transformation of a vintage dresser drawer into a child's desk or keepsake table. Also incorporated are a piano music rack and glass drawer pulls. This piece is hinged from the back allowing for access of the drawer from the top. The original powder blue paint remains.

A note of Thanks!

It was a pleasure to be around so many diverse and inspiring artisans in Mt. Airy, PA during the pop-up shop this December hosted by Michele Longo. Again, my deepest gratitude to her for bringing us together and orchestrating a great event. I wanted to thank those of you who may have purchased any one of my unique and repurposed pieces. I know those pieces are in good homes and will be appreciated for a long time. Thank you!

I will be participating with The Clover Market this coming 2012. I look forward to meeting you and will be featuring some new wares that I will post here when completed.

Sincerely and best to you in the New Year,
Tom

What's for dinner?

This was a project where matching the bench and chairs to the farm table’s base finish was desired. The bench and chairs were a mahogany finish requiring layers of the base color. Once dried and set, I was able to lightly detail the chairs/bench with a soft terracotta tone creating a consistent look and adding lightness to the kitchen.
